SeniorAsset is a great option for clients who need extra help getting to a doctor’s appointment or other outings. A few great features of this service are:
- You will have the same licensed and insured driver every time.
- I will block off enough time so that I’ll have time to take you or your loved one home even if the appointment goes long. You don’t have to worry about missing your return ride or getting done early and having to wait for it.
- You only pay for the time that you use.
How It Works:
- Call, text, or email SeniorAsset. (I’m happy to coordinate with the client directly or with a loved one coordinating on his/her behalf). I will work with you to arrange a pickup time. I’ll block off enough time so that you will have enough time even if the appointment runs late. (You are only billed for what you use).
- I pick up the client from her home or community at the designated time and drive her to her appointment.
- The client and I walk into the appointment. I make sure she gets checked and wait with her in the lobby.
- (Optional) I go into the appointment with the client and advocate on her behalf and/or take notes for her loved ones.
- I bring her back home after and makes sure she gets into her home, walking in with her if needed.
SeniorAsset’s round trip transportation service can be a great option for lots of seniors. SeniorAsset works well for those with Alzheimer’s, Lewy body dementia, and other forms of dementia as I will make sure the client gets into the appropriate office. I will then provide the client company while we wait together and will be waiting in the lobby when the client gets done with the medical appointment. I check my memory care transportation clients in and out of memory care for their appointments.
SeniorAsset can also be a great transportation option for those having a procedure, such as cataract surgery or a colonoscopy. Often, the doctor’s office will require that the driver wait there during the procedure. It can be difficult to find someone to do this if you have no family in the area or if friends and family are busy working.
SeniorAsset is also an excellent choice for those with walkers, poor sight, and poor hearing. Uber and Lyft drivers will sometimes refuse to pick up a client when they see a walker. I’m more than happy to fold walkers and put them in my trunk. I’m also conscientious about pulling up in front of ramps instead of the curb. I’m happy to help those with hearing and sight issues navigate medical buildings to find the correct office.
